Brian Henry Charles Tyler

1983-1992 Controller and Auditor-General.The fourteenth Auditor-General of New Zealand, Brian Henry Charles Tyler, served as Controller and Auditor-General from 1983 to 1992.

Brian Tyler went to Auckland Grammar School. After graduation, he joined the Inland Revenue Department and worked his way up through the ranks. Former Prime Minister Robert Muldoon chose Mr Tyler to be Mr Shailes' successor as Auditor-General.

Mr Tyler was known as a fitness fanatic and would often run during his lunch break.

The CBE after his name means that Brian Tyler  was a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
